Dominick Reyes Out, Carlos Ulberg Faces Vicious Finisher at UFC Atlantic City

Dominick Reyes is out of his rescheduled fight with Carlos Ulberg at UFC Atlantic City on March 30. "The Devastator" was originally scheduled for UFC 297 but Ulberg pulled out with an injury, forcing the move to the New Jersey card.

As of yet, Reyes hasn't revealed why he dropped out of the fight.

Replacing Reyes is Alonzo Menifield, a surging middleweight prospect, and Dana White's Contender Series veteran. "Atomic" has recently found his footing in the UFC, going 4-0-1 in his last five bouts.

Menifield most notably caused upsets in his fights with Dustin Jacoby and Jimmy Crute. He demonstrates good fundamentals, backed by lights-off power and underrated grappling and cardio. The Texas-based fighter shocked spectators with his deceptive submission skills, owning wins by Von Flue choke and strikes from crucifix position.

City Kickboxing's Ulberg has also found his groove in the UFC, overcoming a devastating KO loss in his debut to win five straight fights. The Kiwi fighter possesses dangerous striking with an accurate check left hook that has ended three of his last four finishes.

#12 Menifield is ranked higher at light heavyweight than #14 Reyes, so Ulberg has the opportunity to fight for a spot closer to the title. Menifield will no doubt be the highest-caliber fighter Ulberg has faced since his debut and should serve as a litmus test to see if he can hang with the best at light heavyweight.
